The Cruyffian of Lil’ Kleine

Lil’ Kleine... Where to begin? Everyone has an opinion about him, that's for sure. From the worst coach ever on The Voice to the coach who brings some flair to the show. The man who tears up 500-euro bills without hesitation. Showy or just funny? He's had liters of beer spilled over him (I still find that quite pointless), but luckily he doesn't seem to mind too much — he gets paid anyway. Yes, really a case of love ‘em or hate ‘em, but you won't run out of things to say about that Lil. Not that he cares much, I believe. Also, hats off for that actually, because he really doesn't care much about what people think. I think that's a good trait, I would just prefer to understand what he's actually saying more often.
Because from the lyrics that Lil’ Kleine occasionally spits out, Johan Cruyff could have learned a thing or two. But yes, every disadvantage has its advantage, because we can enjoy Lil's statements. Do they make any sense? Well... You'll only see it once you get it (yes, we're sticking to the Cruyffian theme). Here are the 10 statements from Lil’ Kleine that, um... aren't very well thought out. Exactly what we love.
1. ‘Yes, I have criminal friends. If one of them commits a robbery, that's their business. As long as they don't rob grandmothers, I stand by them. – No, that's indeed where the line is, of course. Seems more than logical to me.
2. ‘I think you really show that you're doing something you actually really enjoy. You can hear that in your voice. Only, when I look at you like this, I see that you can do so much more.’ – This is the feedback that The Voice candidates receive. What are you actually saying?
3. ‘If you want to become something, then you can become that. So if I want to become a lawyer tomorrow, that might mean I won't see my wife and friends for five years because I have to study in an attic for five years, but then I would succeed in five years. There are also people who go to the moon.’ – Look, I'm all for that whole ‘I can achieve anything’ attitude, but let's keep it a little realistic.
4. ‘If I want Beatrix to come over, then Beatrix will come over.’ – Bea, are you reading along?
5. ‘I’m not gonna make too much dirty on it.’ … ‘Sorry, my English is not so well.’ – The English-speaking candidate has taken these words to heart and has started a thorough cleaning.
6. ‘I turned around because I thought it was good enough.’ — It's not like this is the full concept of the show. Oh, wait.
7. ‘I don't know that much about singing... To me, it was just perfect.’ – Hahaha.
8. ‘Your first expensive watch should be a Rolex.’ – What to do with your savings 101.
9. ‘I felt completely fine. I needed it for a moment.’ – Because The Voice candidates are indeed there to give you a little boost. Naturally.
10. ‘Well, I sometimes think that people find me a total loser, and sometimes they do.’ – Okay. And okay.
