The most delicious tomato soup ever comes from a container

tomato soup

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: the tastiest tomato soup.

Just like star chefs don't eat caviar all day, we at FavorFlav don't make everything (completely) ourselves either. Okay, our pesto and guacamole we do (and without a food processor), but tomato soup? I get that from the supermarket, because man oh man, do they have a top tomato soup there.

Homemade food is not always better, tastier, and more impressive than the ready-made version. We never make these things ourselves. And although this is supposedly the best tomato soup ever according to FavorFlav's Renée, I am simply over the moon with my supermarket version. Not only because it's at least just as tasty (sorry Renée), but also because it’s on the table within ten minutes, steaming hot. Double win, if you ask me.

Just need to puree it
A bit of oil in the pan, lightly sauté, add water and the included packet of broth powder, let it boil, then blend it with the immersion blender and you're done. I then add a bit of cream at the end, some fresh basil, and if I have it at home, a spoonful of homemade pesto (according to the surprising pesto recipe from the famous chef Massimo Bottura).

And believe me: everyone who has ever eaten this tomato soup from Albert Heijn at my place finds it divine. I always pretend that I made it myself, from scratch, and hide the packaging at the bottom of the trash can. I recommend you do the same from now on. Unless you have oceans of time and are bad at pretending, or a combination of both.

P.S.: #nospon, just love
