This is how to clean your sex toys cleanly

Manufacturer Lelo has come up with a new design, fine for this lockdown light: the Soraya Wave, which is supposed to provide fusion orgasms. That sounds really quite promising. It is said to be so attuned to the female body that it ‘pours a tidal wave of orgasms over you. Sounds... heady. But also sounds like quite a mess.

Because how do you actually clean your sex toys? It sounds rather logical that it's a very important thing to do, but to soap everything up gigantically and then do all sorts of antics with it, that doesn't sound ideal either, right?

No, it isn't. It is important to know what your sex toy is made of for cleaning: a porous, or non-porous material. Non-porous materials are silicone, metal or glass, for example, and these are usually easy to clean. Porous materials are jelly or elastomer, for example.

Both materials can be cleaned by using some soap and warm water. Be careful not to overdo it on the soap, because that's not good either. If you have a toy made of non-porous materials, you can also boil it out for three minutes to make sure all bacteria are gone. But then again, this doesn't apply if your toy is battery- or electricity-powered.

Then an extra tip: you can also just read the leaflet, because it often describes it there too. And last but not least because very important: make sure it is thoroughly dry before you use or store it again, otherwise you might soon have to deal with mould and that doesn't seem quite the idea.
