This is how you easily get those two liters of water a day

First a heatwave, now non-stop rain: it's really never good... The silly thing is that I can only appreciate those lovely summer days afterwards, even though I literally slept on the couch for four nights (three stories up and 32 degrees inside is NOT doable). But those days are behind us and now that the temperatures have halved, I’m going to dive into the new fashion season. I see a lot of brown tones, blue, and green coming by, and luckily the fake fur coat remains a hot item. I also still have a weakness for beautiful leather items, like this FAN-TAS-TIC suit from Frenken. I’m almost hoping that there won’t be another heatwave, so we can all flaunt in ‘autumn attire’.

In the past few weeks, Otis seems to be growing even faster: full sentences are being formed and in a tone that makes me burst out laughing immediately. It’s really true: you get yourself back so hard when you have kids, because I literally hear myself talking. But when we had a tour of a potential primary school last week, I saw again how small he actually still is. At the beginning of the day, Otis said very bravely: ‘Can I go to the school with the big kids now?’ but at the end of the day, he said before going to sleep in a small voice: ‘Mama, I’m not ready for the big kids yet, right?’ No, dear Otis, you can stay nice and small for over a year, and as far as your mother is concerned, for the rest of your life.

My big flaw: I drink way too little water in a day. Especially during breastfeeding, Jon really had to put glasses of water in front of me as a reminder, and I still forgot to drink them. There’s only one thing to do: stick a water bottle to my hand, wherever I go and stand. And as if someone has been eavesdropping on me, I received these beautiful Dopper bottles for the whole family as a gift, how cool. You can now order them with your own name on it, plus: you help reduce plastic waste by using a reusable bottle. If this doesn’t motivate me to drink more water, then I don’t know what will.

Especially in Amsterdam, I sometimes lose track of all the newest hotspots. I have a huge list of restaurant addresses that I still need to visit, and the moment I want to choose something new, I completely freeze. I prefer to choose a place that you know is always good, and one of those places is Sushisamba. There’s a beautiful terrace by the water and the dishes are all little flavor explosions. Our favorites? The tuna ceviche, tiger maki roll, and the dessert: ‘Welcome to the rainforest’. So if you ever have decision stress about where to go, you can’t go wrong with this choice.
