This is the current Meghan Markle situation

Meghan is probably going to celebrate her thirty-ninth birthday quietly today. California currently has the highest number of infections in the States, which means her beloved LA is also on lockdown. While opening a bottle, she and Harry are likely reflecting on the year, so we'll do that too.

The move to the USA was supposed to be a relief in terms of paparazzi, which has not happened. It even seems that tabloids are sending drones into the air to capture images of Archie. Meanwhile, Meghan is at odds with some major titles in the UK, which has already cost her 75k. Ouch.

Let's immediately dive into the financial side of things, because can the young royals actually support themselves? Just like almost the entire world, corona is throwing a spanner in the works here. The big deals are not coming in, but what is not can still come. They are just like people.

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. In the case of Meghan and Harry, it's not entirely clear who belongs to which group. The book Finding Freedom, written by Omid Scoby and Caroline Durand, is based on stories from friends of the couple about finding – indeed – freedom. Megs and Har claim they did not cooperate with the publication, but this seems not to be entirely true.

Let's talk about Harry, who has not been taken very seriously these weeks. He is committed to responsible travel with his organization Travalyst, but this is not really going down well with the Brits. The Minister of Transport has already indicated that Har is not the right man for the job of ethical travel expert.

The royal family remains kind to the Sussexes, as Queen Elizabeth and Philip, the Clarence House, and the Kensingtons have all warmly congratulated Meghan on Instagram for her birthday.

I suspect that Har and Meg would also like to skip this year. Although I secretly hope they are celebrating a happy birthday today and are glad to be far away from all that British nonsense. Happy birthday Meghan, I still think you're great for now.
