This is your new Netflix addiction

Straight to the point: I found Selling Sunset medium-ish. Too scripted for my feeling, although I really wanted to see all the houses. Now I was presented with something new: Million Dollar Beach House. Same recipe, but then in The Hamptons, the hangout of the rich and famous from New York.
What do we see:
A small real estate office, Nest Seekers, that buys and sells. They entice people to sell (‘Suppose I can get 35 million for your house, are you willing to put it on the market?’) and throw everything into the fight to sell a house. They easily spend twenty thousand dollars to throw a really cool party in the house in question so that the guests who come think: wow, what a house, I or so-and-so must buy it immediately.
What have I learned from Million Dollar Beach House?
1. That you can't really shop under seven million dollars. As in: not in terms of houses.
2. That a house can be ten million dollars more expensive than a comparable house further down the street, simply because people can and want to move in right away and don't want to deal with all the renovation hassle. That is worth something too, of course. Time is money, after all.
3. That everyone looks like they are personal trainers, they are so toned. But they are realtors.
4. That a realtor can easily pocket a commission of 350,000 dollars on a good sale. Yes, then I understand that you want to invest 20,000 dollars in a party.
5. That Sag Harbor is the village where everyone wants to be in The Hamptons now. Montauk is nice too, but Sag Harbor is it.
6. That there are intermediaries who first view the properties so that their wealthy clientele does not have to waste their precious time visiting houses that are just not quite right.
7. That they have to earn everything in three months. Between Memorial Day (end of May) and Labor Day (the first Monday in September), people buy a house in The Hamptons, after which everyone goes back to New York.
8. I like Peggy Zabakolas the most. Her nickname? Deals in heels. Then you know enough. Watching together tonight?
