This Love Island couple has broken up again

You might not say it, but finding love when you're with a select group in a much too luxurious villa in the sun turns out to be much easier than trying to maintain that same relationship in the slightly less sunny Belgium and the Netherlands. Shocking, I know. I really didn't see it coming, especially since one lives in the Netherlands and the other in Belgium. Yes, that's definitely a different ball game than Love Island.
And they all seemed so happy in the villa. They were completely convinced that it would work out afterwards. Well, it didn't. Jaimy and Mattheüs are no more, and where better to share that than on your YouTube channel? Everything for the views, right? Mattheüs explains in the video why he and Jaimy broke up.
“This is not due to the distance or our age, but because we realize that we can't give each other what we want. Just like in most relationships, we've had our ups and downs. The downs tipped the scales.” Anyway, applause for how Mattheüs presents this: as if a long-term relationship has come to an end, which is really very sad. Just to clarify: the participants have been back for about a month, after which they had to quarantine for ten days. So I don't know how many downs they experienced in those three weeks, but apparently enough to make the decision. Has Raffie already slid into his DMs?
But there's more Love Island news. Yes, Remco has been heard from. He would be with his new love in Portugal. Is that the girl he pretended to be in love with Imen for six weeks? No, good news: that girl doesn't want him anymore. I still find it striking that Remco genuinely thought she would react differently. But well, that didn't turn into love.
So who is he with in Portugal? Well, with former contestant Floor, from the previous season of Love Island. She even won, with Daniël. Those two have also been broken up for a long time (they lasted about as long as Jaimy and Mattheüs) and now these Islanders met each other in Portugal. A tag on a Story and the rumor mill went into overdrive: it couldn't be anything other than that they were a couple?
Well, Remco wants to clear the air (what an honest guy he is, huh), and he does that of course... On his YouTube channel. Yes, everything for the views here too. In the form of an incredibly awkward, cringeworthy video of a Remco who ‘coincidentally’ runs into Floor, they say that there is nothing going on between them. Remco also wants to say that the media can make a mountain out of a molehill. That ‘we’ shouldn't believe everything the media says, because that's naive. Yeah right, the media writes all nonsense. So unfair. Almost as unfair as playing that game for six weeks. No, you get it: I haven't forgiven Remco yet.
