This magical baguette has a remarkable shape

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: the crazy shape of this baguette.
The baguette: a crispy bread with a heavenly smell, recognizable worldwide by its baguette shape. Except at this bakery in Paris. Here, the dough is not only rolled into the familiar elongated shape, but there are also two extra dough balls added.
Two extra dough balls
In the French capital, you will undoubtedly find the tastiest baguettes in the world. Paris has an abundance of bakeries where bakers in flour-dusted aprons bake traditional baguettes day in and day out. But at Legay Choc owner Richard Legay deviates from the traditional. Instead of leaving the elongated dough roll as it is, two extra dough balls are pressed at the end of the roll in this bakery.

Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside
The penis-shaped baguettes, also known as le baguette magique are the specialty of Legay Choc. Just like the traditional variant, this one is also crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and its shape makes it perfect for dipping in jam or chocolate spread (we're not making this up). Although there is no wrong way to le baguette magique eat it, according to the creator, it's best to gently pull off the balls first and dip them in coffee, after which the remaining part obviously follows.

A special bakery
For Richard, the cheerful rainbow-colored bakery is more than just a place where he sells bread. “Opening this bakery, a gay bakery, has helped me show everyone around me and my family who I really am… that I am gay,” he explains. And that reason makes eating a le baguette magique naturally extra special.
