This should be on every table

It's not so crazy that I love the Tripp Trapp chair from Stokke (really, give me a dining table with a Tripp Trapp and I'll sit on it). It's a Norwegian brand and their first children's furniture dates back to 1972. I happen to have a Norwegian name and stuck my head around the corner of the earth in 1972, so that Tripp Trapp and I are a pair. The origin of the Tripp Trapp is also a nice story. Peter Opsvik, the designer, was looking for something suitable for his two-year-old son who had outgrown his high chair, couldn't find it and voilà, he designed the Tripp Trapp.

But the Tripp Trapp chair represents more to me. It's a cool design for a high chair that can last a long time. You can attach a bouncer (one of those reclining chairs) to it, and for the slightly later phase, there is a baby set available. My children definitely sat on the Tripp Trapp until they were five (we got a personalized one: with their names painted on it by the babysitter, so sweet) and I personally always find a Tripp Trapp delightful. A bit of a mix between a bar stool and a dining chair. Just a little higher, just a little more active. It's not for nothing that it's called the chair for life; I'm not the only one who wants to keep the Tripp Trapp forever. And I think it's handsome. That too. Not all that fuss and frills. Enough of that comes into your house as soon as you have children.

This year, Stokke is releasing two new colors of Tripp Trapp chairs: Warm Red and Soft Mint. A soft reference to moss, green leaves under a softly lit sky. Now there are some babies on the way in my surroundings, so I already know what seems like a particularly good baby gift to me... There is a suitable color for every interior. The Soft Mint is of course beautiful in a crispy interior, the Warm Red looks great against my taupe walls or with my friends who have painted their house deep dark blue again. You can go in any direction.

There is also a matching baby set available in the same color as the chair.
