Tip tip tip: All Together Now on Netflix

This weekend I fell into a hole. An emptiness. I was very busy watching Married At First Sight and fell into a huge hole after the reunion, or rather the very last episode (which is really so enjoyable by the way, so much dramaaaa). But yes, then you fall into that hole and it needs to be filled. Sometimes out of pure despair you might set something bad up and sometimes you discover a movie that just came out and seems really good. Thank goodness I stumbled upon something great this weekend and it falls into that last category. I was hooked.
And before that, I settled in for All Together Now, an American drama film with a capital D. Maybe I was still a bit off because I was in that MAFS emptiness or maybe I'm just not that stable in general, but there were tears, people. And not just a single tear, no, that ugly crying. Luckily, I was watching it alone.
Because All Together Now is about Amber (played by Auli’i Cravalho, also the voice of Moana) who carries a big secret: she is homeless and lives in an abandoned school bus with her mother. However, Amber has big dreams: her singing voice (which we also know from Moana) does not go unnoticed and she gets to audition at a prestigious music academy.
In terms of story, maybe not the most original and yes, you already know in advance that it will be a tearjerker, but meine gute, it was a tearjerker 2.0 for me. From the same writers as those of Silver Linings Playbook and the makers of The Fault in Our Stars and Love, Simon. Well, then you know what to expect, right?
