To make at home: champagne watermelon mimosas

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: champagne watermelon mimosas.
What is more refreshing than watermelon when it's warm? A mimosa of watermelon and champagne. Here's how to make it.
Anyone who follows us a bit has already figured it out: at FavorFlav we do enjoy a drink. And watermelon, and yes, then 1+1 quickly becomes 2, or let’s say 3. We’ve already made a few winning combinations, like these divine frozen watermelon mules and frozen mojito popsicles, and this watermelon gadget also provides a lot of fun in the editorial office. And now we have another great idea: making watermelon mimosas. Get the glasses ready.
Ingredients
- Flesh of a small watermelon (in cubes)
- Juice of two limes
- 1 bottle of champagne (decadent!) or other bubbles
- Optional: 2 teaspoons of agave syrup, mint for garnish
Here’s how to make champagne watermelon mimosas
- Hollow out a watermelon and blend the watermelon cubes in a blender until you have a smooth mixture.
- Strain the watermelon through a sieve or use a colander with a tea towel inside. Add the juice of the two limes along with the agave syrup.
- Mix the watermelon juice with the champagne. Always start with equal parts and adjust the amount to taste.
- Pour the drink back into the hollow watermelon (that looks nice) or serve in glasses.
