Ingredients

  • 800 g floury potatoes
  • splash of oil
  • salt

Perhaps the tastiest side dish ever: perfect, crispy, homemade oven fries. Once you get the hang of this recipe, you'll never just throw a bag of frozen fries into your fryer again. Bet?

Here's how to make the oven fries
1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Wash and peel the potatoes. Then pat them dry with kitchen paper.

3. Cut fries from the potatoes by first slicing the potatoes into slices and then into fries about a centimeter wide. Pat them dry again.

4. Place the fries in a bowl and drizzle with a splash of oil and a generous pinch of salt.

5. Lay the fries on the baking sheet. Spread the fries well over the baking sheet, they should not touch each other.

6. Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake the fries until crispy for about 30 minutes. Turn the fries halfway through.
