True crime lovers, this is going to be enjoyable

We're kicking off the new year nicely on Netflix, because on January 13, a delightful docuseries is coming to the streaming service. Once again about one of the most famous serial killers that the United States has known: The Night Stalker, not to be confused with The Original Night Stalker by the way. Yes, they are not very inventive with those nicknames, but the latter is Joseph DeAngelo, who was arrested two years ago for — hold on — 13 murders, 50 rapes, and 120 burglaries. There will probably be a Netflix series or two about that as well, but now we're going to talk about Richard Ramirez.
Also not a nice guy, by the way. In 1984 and 1985, he was ‘active’ in California, especially in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In total, he is responsible for thirteen murders, and how he got caught is also quite spectacular, but I won't spoil that for you.
What was striking was that there was no logic in Ramirez's choice of victims. The youngest was six years old, the oldest 82. Additionally, he had no ‘preference’ for women or men, which made it even more difficult for the American police.
But well, he was eventually caught and in 2013 he died in prison at the age of 53. He had already been on ‘death row’ for 23 years, so he actually got off quite easily. That is generally the case, by the way, if you know a little about his deeds.
