Wat doe jij op zondag? Uitslapen? Bankhangen? Je huis opruimen? Hmmm, kan kan. Wat je óók kunt doen is nu je dit leest je mams bellen. Je broer. Je zus. Je beste vriendin. Zeggen dat ze zich als de sodemieter moeten opfrissen en dat jullie over een paar uurtjes meeten bij Mama Makan.

You see, one of my favorite restaurants (and Indonesian hello) has recently started a Sunday Brunch. Last week I went to work out early on Sunday morning and then had a really nice brunch with my family at Mama Makan and actually I want to do that more often from now on. Being active and then smashing an Indo brunch afterwards. Think Pancake Rendang, think Coconut Rum Pancakes, Mama’s Chicken & Waffles and oh my lord that Ayam Geprek Sambal. Maybe we decided as a family to order the entire menu from top to bottom and share everything. Including cava, bloody mary’s and spekkoek shake, meine gute.

Anyway, long story short: brunching is what you want to do on Sundays from now on. Very Gossip Girl-like and absolutely at Mama Makan. This is what they call indofood made with love. You can taste it in every bite. So, grab that phone and get the troops ready, you’re heading towards Sarphatistraat. Selamat makan!
