I plan the summer quite tightly around my nails. I belong to the type that has no patience for nail polish drying, thinks it's an excellent plan to suddenly repot plants after a fresh coat, and where long nails just don't work. Before your nails are polished, don't wipe away the dust from filing yourself, as that makes your nails greasier and sometimes dirty, causing the polish not to adhere well.
