Money planner

Since the moment I got my first bank account, I have actually had a love-hate relationship with money. Love because I enjoy having it, hate because I spend it way too easily. Especially during my student days, I didn't always make the best decisions moneywise. Tickets for Lowlands? Yesyesyes. Money for groceries? Nonono. Okay, it has never been so serious that I couldn't actually buy groceries, but it wasn't wise. And yes, I dare to admit that I have sometimes asked dear dad if he could advance the rent...

Now those days are behind me and I am learning to manage money better. But it can always be better and especially now that I have been working as a freelancer for a few years, it is important to have your affairs in order. Just for the record: this was my New Year's resolution for 2020, it is November and I am only just starting now. For next year, my New Year's resolution is clearly to postpone fewer things.

But first things first: getting my finances in order. I don't find that a fun task at all. I don't really like working with Excel sheets, so I went looking for an alternative. Then I came across the Instagram account of PorteRenee. She has created a money planner and I thought: let me give that a try.

Well, I have it in and what a nice book. Super handy tips, very clear lists where you can record all kinds of expenses and it genuinely makes it easier and more fun. You can write your goals in it, keep track of your progress, and also work on your areas for improvement. If you are also not great with money: you want to order this.
