A crawl away from Vondelpark, away from the hustle and bustle: this was for me — even as a local Amsterdammer — the ideal getaway for a staycation. The top room with a beautiful view, chocolates in the room (which of course disappeared immediately) and a bed I wished I could stay in.

A night (preferably several of course) in a hotel can really recharge me. So I will definitely do that more often. What I will also do more often is have dinner at TOZI (the restaurant of Park Plaza Vondelpark) first, because that was quite an Italian party. Spaghetti served in the famous large Parmesan cheese (with truffle of course), zucchini fries and mini pizzas... When can I go again? It was a case of rolling back to the room, especially since we didn't want to skip that tiramisu. That turned out to be a good choice by the way.
