woman painting

Terra as in terracotta. Never thought I would paint my bedroom the same color as my mother's old-fashioned terracotta pots filled with petunias in the garden, but apparently I did. I first fell for the combination of black, natural, and terracotta when I stepped into my favorite hotel on a Greek island. This is how I wanted our new house, I shouted to my boyfriend. It surely helped that it was a pleasant thirty degrees, there was a private pool in the garden, I was walking barefoot, and I had just grilled eggplants, but I really liked it. Terra had to and would come. A small concession was in order, as he thought the whole house was just a bit too terracotta, but the upstairs was agreed upon. So now there is a cork floor (which by the way is very beneficial for the climate), the wall is terra (!), and the accessories bring in some black and more natural tones. One room done, the rest still to go. Until then, I will happily sit in my terra room.
