What you absolutely must do this month to start 2021 off right

Maybe not the coziest around the holidays, but it will definitely give you space in your head. Close 2020 and start 2021 completely empty and fresh, and I mean this as literally as you can take it. Gather the mess from the whole year, clear it out, and start the new year blank.
The folders and tabs on your laptop
If you have a MacBook, you know that your desktop fills up with all kinds of screenshots. My desktop is actually the wild growth of my online existence. The handy thing is that you can throw all of this into the trash with one action. You can also do this with your mail: create a separate folder named 2020 and drag everything from this year into it. The same goes for all your files in the cloud. Create a new folder, drag all documents, folders, and loose ends into it, and that tab can also close in your head. This way, you can find everything back, but it doesn't stick between your new plans, which saves you unrest and chaos.
Your administration
Literally close the books. Create a 2020 archive for your administration and neatly store everything in one folder, so you can start fresh in January. Once the mail is cleared, the bills are paid, and the letters are neatly stored away, your administration remains unblemished in January with leftovers from the previous year. Which is just nice.
Don't forget your phone
When you think of an archive, you might think of a dusty storage room, but WhatsApp has that function too. This way, you can store conversations without losing them, which creates space on your phone and a tidy feeling as soon as you open the messaging app. By the way, I would also just leave any group chat you no longer need or use and delete it, which makes it even tidier.
The wardrobe
I'm not saying you should immediately empty your entire closet and buy everything new, but do take a moment to go through your lingerie drawer and your basic items. Is it wearing out or is it gone? Get rid of it. That will give you a tidy closet, and you won't be walking around in half-worn clothes, because that shouldn't happen if you work from home all day.
Your finances
I personally work in an Excel sheet to keep track of my income and expenses. No worries, I'm 34 years old and the Excel sheet only came into my life after celebrating my thirtieth birthday. But it's nice to take a moment to see if your overview is still correct. Are your incomes still the same, do all your subscriptions and automatic withdrawals still match your document, and is there anything to say about it so you can save a bit? Then you know exactly what you can spend and save in 2021.
The notebook
Maybe you write one sentence a day, keep a whole diary, or have a notebook where you occasionally jot down thoughts: close this book and order a fresh copy. Starting a new year with a crisp blank notebook literally gives you seas of blank paper for beautiful plans.
