What you didn't know about Unsolved Mysteries (but want to know)

It is really serious how enthusiastic I can get about true crime documentaries. It's even so bad that I actually don't dare to bring it up in my friend group, because they don't share that passion at all. Well, passion? Sounds a bit weird, but I find it so interesting. My standard go-to activity when I can't sleep (and that happens often) is reading Reddit, mainly on the Unresolved Mysteries forum, which is filled with — you’ll never guess — unresolved mysteries.

When the series Unsolved Mysteries was announced on Netflix, so you can imagine that I was completely over the moon. And I am now an experienced armchair detective, or rather: I have the illusion that I am indeed capable enough to crack this cold case (spoiler alert: I absolutely am not). And many others like me, because the whole internet is filled with theories about all the episodes. My favorite so far is the very first episode with Rey Rivera, because I really enjoy all the conspiracy theories.

Suicide or was he pushed? Hello, there’s even a theory going around that his body was placed in a helicopter, which then flew over that roof and that he was thrown out of it. Bi-zar. But that’s not where it ends: such unresolved cases are, of course, full of evidence, video footage, witness statements, and so on, and that can't all fit into one episode. And now Netflix has been so kind to just put all that evidence online. They have put it all in a Google Drive file so you can now pretend to be a real FBI detective at home.

But there is more good news. Six episodes are now online and that’s of course a bit too few, everyone thinks so, including Netflix. And it just so happens that they already have six new episodes ready to go. YES. An official release date has not yet been confirmed, but that it is coming is 100 percent certain. And if I have to believe the hard rumors, those episodes will be online in October.

BUT THERE'S MORE. Yessiree, it doesn't stop here. Because they are also busy with a third season and you can actually tip unresolved cases. Now I do think they will mainly go for American cases, but you never know, right? In any case, we are well set for true crime on Netflix for now. Heeeeavenly.
