When I look back at photos from the past, I sometimes get a shock

Carolien spoor with her godfather and son

Or can we do a brand shoot at the office with Lemej? I'm breaking out in a sweat: next to a huge structure with stock and a nice table with our collection, there's not much to really shoot nice images with. Luckily, we just did a beautiful shoot for our new prints, so there's plenty of nice images to have printed. Like crazy, we choose our best images, plus two photos of ourselves with the little ones to have printed via Instawall. That site has nice inspiration for photo walls or collage prints, so I first took a look there. I thought it was fun to alternate with plexiglass and posters in frames. Look how nice the end result has turned out. As if our office has always been decorated so nicely, right?

When we design our new collections with Lemej, we are our own benchmark: does it make us greedy? It's always a bit exciting whether it looks like you had in mind, but this print has turned out even more beautiful than we dared to dream. I use this large swaddle as a bottom sheet in Elias’ crib and it's such a cozy scene. But it also goes on the boat as a nice cloth for the kids to sit and lie on.

When I sometimes look back at photos from the past, I am sometimes shocked by the fuss in my clothing style: ruffles on prints on flares on different materials... I can still choose bold and exuberant items, but by now I prefer a combination of fashion, comfort, and beautiful materials. Through my aunt, I discovered the brand Deha, which besides beautiful activewear also has a very comfy fashion line. I literally wear this orange dress every week, it's such a joy to wear. And by now they have a few points of sale in the Netherlands. Personally, I find it nice to see, try on, and feel collections live again, now that it is allowed.

Every year I treat my dear godfather to the best high tea in the Netherlands on his birthday. And as an avid tea and dessert connoisseur, I have done enough comparative research. The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam has by far the best Afternoon Teas. After this crazy period, we decided to ramp up our date to twice a year and lo and behold, that week I received the press release about the latest Waldorf Afternoon Tea collaboration with Your Little Black Book in my email. This edition is entirely focused on ‘staycation’ and the dishes contain ingredients from our own country. We immediately booked and enjoyed it together again last weekend. What delicious savory and sweet creations and so inventive (I mention a roasted avocado with licorice meringues or a tompouce with coffee filling, mmmm). Maybe we should ramp up our date to three times a year...
