You want to eat this cheese tortellini in garlic butter sauce

During our ongoing quest for comfort food, which can also be translated as ‘how can I combine as much cheese and garlic, preferably with some butter, in one meal?’, we found this super easy recipe for tortellini with garlic butter sauce.

INGREDIENTS
1 pack cheese tortellini (220 – 250 g)
300 ml broth
2 tbsp cornstarch
4 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 tsp dried basil
40 g Parmesan cheese, grated
fresh basil, a few leaves

This recipe from Culinary Hill can be made with items that are shelf-stable or that you might already have at home. With a great role for the underrated cornstarch.

Here’s how to make the cheese tortellini in garlic butter sauce

  1. In a pot of boiling water, cook the tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, in a bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the broth and cornstarch.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it foams, stir in the garlic and dried basil, and sauté gently for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the broth-cornstarch mixture and stir well until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  5. Toss in the cooked tortellini and stir well until the sauce coats all the pasta.
  6. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top and some torn basil leaves.
  7. Delicious with a glass of Sangiovese.
