10 unnecessary ridiculous facts about your favorite kids' shows

How cool is it to live in a pineapple deep in the sea? Or to live with your buddies on a Teletubbie mountain and eat Tubbietoast all day? Seriously, I would totally go for it. Trust me: some of these fun facts you didn't see coming about your favorite kids' shows.
1. Ever thought that those Teletubbie suits are GI-GAN-TIC? On TV, the Teletubbies look small or at least not bigger than us. But the biggest (Tinky Winky) is actually THREE METERS (!) and the smallest (Po) is two meters. Holy shit.
2. Actually quite weird for a community, but all the Smurfs are male. Okay, except for Smurfette. But she was made with the help of magic.
3. Pippi Longstocking's house is still standing. Fancy a trip to Villa Kakelbont? Gotland, Sweden is the place to be.
4. In 25 years, no less than three different actors have voiced the dog Samson from Samson and Gert.
5. Did you know that The Powerpuff Girls are based on the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty? I especially crack up at the Wikipedia description: ‘The Powerpuff Girls are girls about five years old. They have no fingers, toes, ears, nose, eyebrows, or a realistic appearance because they have a big head with big eyes and a very small body and limbs.’ HAHAHA.
6. There was always a backup puppet present at Sesame Street. Because hey, if something goes wrong during the broadcast with a puppet, it can always be switched out immediately. This way, recordings almost never get delayed. Smart ass people.
7. The names Tom and Jerry are derived from terms used during World War II for Germans (Jerries) and English (Tommies).
8. Okay, maybe not a kids‘ show, but still a little Disney fact. Cinderella, Belle, and Tiana all wear gloves to show that they were not born with blue blood, but are married ’royalty'. How old-fashioned!
9. Sleeping Beauty (an official princess and thus glove-less) appears in the film about her life for only 18 minutes. In fact: the sleeping beauty has only 18 lines of dialogue AND after 40 minutes of film, she says nothing more.
10. Bikini Bottom (the home of Spongebob, his grumpy clarinet-playing neighbor Squidward, and all the others) is not just fictional. The place actually exists on the seabed of Bikini, the little island in Micronesia.
