7 genius things that the Airfryer can also do

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: 7 genius things that the Airfryer can also do.
It may take a while before they come around, but once people choose an Airfryer (or receive one as a gift), they are often over the moon with it. Especially when it turns out that besides sliding in a box of frozen bitterballen, you can do so much more with it. These tips are for everyone who is curious about the hidden superpowers of this device.
Because if you look beyond the fries and chicken nuggets, you can do surprisingly many other ‘projects’ with the Airfryer, and it really proves to be an asset that will make your life easier in the kitchen. Did you know this for example?
You can bake bread in it
You need a small baking pan for it and the dough also needs to rise, but if you're working from home, this is a nice distraction during your breaks. And the reward: soft, fresh, deliciously smelling bread, who wouldn't want that?

You can fry steak in it
Maybe like us, you're used to following tips for cooking the perfect steak and finishing it off in the pan with some butter. But in an Airfryer, you can also fry a super tender juicy steak and add herbs and spices for that extra kick and flavor.

Dry herbs are no match
But just a moment about those herbs and spices: remember that dry ‘rubs’ will just fly around due to the fan circulating the heat. It will be a mess, so make sure to always add some oil to the spice mix. For example, mix some homemade dukkah with a spoon of oil, coat some chicken thighs and carrots with it, and you're two-thirds of the way to a super good dinner.
Always fresh cookies
Now that you don't have to bake a truckload of cookies for the school party or the gathering at the community center, you can easily use your Airfryer to bake just a few cookies for yourself. It saves you from having to fire up the whole oven, and a few freshly baked cookies are just what you need during your dreadfully boring work-from-home session. Freeze your cookie dough in small portions and take out what you're going to bake that day in the morning. Many cookies actually benefit from being baked when the dough is still cold.

Goodbye frozen pizza
If you make sure to always have some dough on hand (in the freezer), you can whip up a quick pizza with exactly the toppings you like in no time. You don't need to pre-cook pizza sauce anyway, and with pizzas, the trick is often: the simpler, the better. So with some anchovies or olives and mozzarella, you can be sitting on the couch with a homemade pizza within half an hour. A glass of wine on the side and go (with that television)!
Add an egg
Boiling eggs in your Airfryer, who knew? Without water even! For hard-boiled eggs, you can just put a few in the basket, go about your business without putting a pot of water on the stove, and after about fifteen minutes, you shock them to stop the cooking and they're done. You've made deviled eggs for your home gathering (you can also get a lot done with just two, you know) even easier this way. For soft-boiled eggs, the guideline is around ten minutes.

Oil is your friend
Airfryers are often seen as the healthier alternative to the deep fryer, but that doesn't mean you have to go completely fat-free. For most food preparations, you still need some oil in the Airfryer, and that will also make your food crispier and therefore tastier. Toss what you're going to make with some oil before you put it in the device or spray it with oil or baking spray.
