People who do not like sports are often popular

A dislike for Rocycle? Vélo? Spinning? Don't want to know anything about running? Pilates? You are probably an incredibly nice person, according to scientists.
Because everyone who hates sports is often popular, research shows.
Smart
According to the study published in the Journal of Health Psychology, gym haters are first and foremost a lot smarter than gym fans. But they are also indirectly more social due to their intelligence: they have a higher verbal IQ. The researchers concluded that people who tend to be less physically active score high on the traits of ‘need for knowledge’ and ‘need for social contact’. After all, you also have time left if you never exercise, so in a way, it makes sense. You are just... Cozy. You have a need to learn things and a need to meet people and be out in the open.
Third half
Other researchers even dare to claim: ‘Happy people are not fit girls. Or muscle boys.’ Those happy people actually enjoy life with a glass of wine here, a bitterball there, and especially a lot of social appointments outside of work. They do exercise, but more in a team sport, like soccer, tennis, hockey, or whatever. They exercise for the fun of it, not necessarily to lose those four kilos. Just once or twice a week. And then you also come back to that ‘popular’ part: because those who have many friends, know many people, and are at every party and third half, are obviously also a bit more popular than someone who lifts weights alone seven days a week.
But let's be honest: exercising also has many benefits. It's good for your body, your mind, and your health. We understand that ourselves after all these years. Here are some nice facts to still book that (group) class (you can then with a calm heart join the drinks with your friends):
1. People who almost never exercise have about 80 percent less muscle strength by the age of 65.
2. On average, adults walk 7,500 steps a day: that's 2,737,500 million steps a year.
3. Your heart is the muscle that works the hardest for you: it beats about 100,000 times a day.
4. Most sports injuries occur at... the knee. It is the most complex joint in your entire body, which wears out the fastest.
5. According to experts, if you want to lose weight, it's better to exercise early in the morning than in the evening. Researchers discovered that seven in the morning is the best time to exercise because your metabolism is then stimulated and you burn calories for the rest of the day.
