About the documentary Framing Britney Spears

Lately, Britney has been in the news quite often, and not for the most pleasant reasons. The guardianship of her father, the strange posts she makes on Instagram (where she doesn't seem to be entirely herself): it's enough to start a #freeBritney movement. And honestly: I am totally on board with that movement. Especially after watching the documentary Framing Britney Spears.
Because my god, it's quite intense. Not even so much because of the guardianship she has been under since 2008 (because I think there should have been more attention to that in the doc), but especially what she has had to endure before that. Seriously, if this were to happen now, there would be a shitstorm, I am sure of it.
First of all, the paparazzi, who don't leave her alone for a second. Of course, the infamous moment when she shaved her head and the entire media descended on her because she had gone completely craycray. Who do you think is responsible for that? That the paparazzi can terrorize someone so much, literally causing someone to have a nervous breakdown... I find that really bizarre. I hope they are treating celebrities a bit more normally by now (I'm not a Hollywood star so I don't know), because this should be punishable in my opinion.
But besides the paparazzi, the media have also been downright ridiculous towards Britney. For the record: these are really statements that have been made against her. In talk shows, a male presenter said: “One thing we haven’t talked about yet… We have to discuss your breasts.” EXCUSE ME? All the times she was asked if she was still a virgin (what does her sex life have to do with us?), a female politician who said “Really, if I had an opportunity to shoot Britney Spears, I think I would.” Britney herself defended that same statement in the show with Diane Sawyer. Really madness. Buzzfeed wrote an article with many examples, you really don't know what you're reading.
And then we also have Justin Timberlake. Yes, they were of course Hollywood’s hottest couple for three years, until they broke up in 2002. Then Justin thought it was perfectly fine to slut-shame her in the media (he proclaimed in radio shows “I f*cked Britney Spears”), made music videos like Cry Me A River in which he not so subtly suggested that she had cheated. And we must not forget that after a live performance of that song, he sang the two lines: “and that made her craaaazy,” as in the song by Gnarls Barkley. Well, guess three times about whom he would be singing that. And meanwhile, his career is flourishing while he kicks Britney down.
Seriously, people, you want to see this documentary. Where? I watched it via the Insta account @britneysvault, in the bio there is a link with all sorts of URLs to the documentary. I am still speechless.
