Honestly: I always find Christmas a bit of a tricky time. I just never really know what to do with myself. On the one hand, I find it so full of obligations and must-dos, and that's why I decided a few years ago to do very little for Christmas. Then I felt very lonely again and realized that having no Christmas and no Christmas feeling is actually even more miserable.
And this was still a free choice of mine. Since that year, I have become increasingly aware and have delved more into the fact that doing absolutely nothing for Christmas is taken for granted by many, and that breaks my heart every time. So I no longer start my New Year's resolutions in January, but in November. What can you do to contribute a little, so that as many people as possible have a nice Christmas?
In that category, I want to highlight the action of Intratuin and Het Goed (the largest thrift chain in the country): All Balls Collecting. They collect old Christmas ornaments and give them to families who cannot afford them. This way, they can still decorate a Christmas tree and celebrate Christmas at home.
At all locations of Intratuin you can drop off old Christmas ornaments starting next Monday. They will then make Christmas packages from them and add an artificial Christmas tree and a string of lights. At least five packages will be given away per location, but the more ornaments, the more packages. Will you join in?
