All the fights between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker in a row

It's been buzzing, screeching, creaking, and cracking for years. The atmosphere on the set of Sex and the City would be diametrically opposed to the ‘friends above all’ vibe that is preached in the series. Yes, between Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, it's all cookies and eggs and peace and quiet, but it crackles and sparks between the two big stars of the series: SJP and Kim Cattrall.
How did it all come to this?
Well, almost no one knows, and the ladies themselves actually don't either. In 2004, Kim Cattrall reportedly said on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross that she was getting paid too little. And because Sarah Jessica Parker became the executive producer of the series, she naturally received a few more bucks. That was frustrating.
In May 2008, The Telegraph wrote about long-standing tensions on set that would all stem from jealousy. It was even said that Nixon, Parker, and Davis wouldn't sit with Kim during lunch breaks.
In 2008, during the Emmy Awards, the same trio was also sitting together at a table laughing and joking while Kim Cattrall was somewhere else. “Are we friends? No. We are adult actresses who can get along just fine.”
In 2009, The New York Post reported that Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall weren't speaking on the set of SATC II, something SJP completely denied in an interview. “It’s not that I love Kim, I adore her. I wouldn’t have made this movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.”
In January 2010, Kim Cattrall also said all sorts of nice things about Sarah Jessica Parker: “We get along very well, she is a real leader on set. The media just wants us to be fighting because that’s much more fun to write about.”
In May of that year, SJP did admit that it wasn't always easy on set and that “feelings got hurt”, and Cynthia Nixon added: “It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but the idea that we are somehow adversarial is ludicrous.” In other words: nothing to worry about.
Kristin Davis explains that not eating together is a bit of a thing. She would always want to work out and then order room service in her hotel room, while Kim loved to be all dressed up in the restaurant.
It remains a bit of a cover-up with the feud, but then the misery comes to the surface. Piers Morgan pries out of Kim during an interview that they were never really friends and that Sarah Jessica could have been a bit friendlier. A few months later, Sarah Jessica joins Piers and says she is upset by Kim's statement. “I really don’t know what her issue is.”
The real hate and throwing comes when Kim's brother is found dead unexpectedly and Kim shares that on Instagram. As a decent colleague would, Sarah Jessica responds with a warm condolence message wishing Kim and her family the best, as well as her brother. Kim reacts so strongly to this that even when I read it, I need to be put on life support. I quote: ‘My mom asked me today, when will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite leave you alone. Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear, you are not my family, you are not my friend. So I’m waiting to tell you one last time. Stop exploring your tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.’
So.
The co-stars are asked for their opinions on this. The most interesting people are of course Jason Lewis (Smith Jarrod) and Chris Noth (Mr. Big).
Jason says he is still team Carrie because she has always been super charming, correct, and friendly.
A journalist asks Chris Noth as he slowly drives by in his car. He responds in the best possible Mr. Big style. As he gently drives on, he presses the button to close the window.
