These celebs have been in jail

Nothing is as nice as finding out juicy things about celebrities. No idea if it's because you think ‘oooh, they're really just normal people’ or if I should just find other hobbies: it is what it is. So new relationships, cheating scandals, whatever: bring it on. Last week I was talking about which celebs have been banned from certain countries (spoiler: mostly in China), this week I'm going to talk about the opposite: from traveling to countries to being locked up. Oh yes: these celebrities were in jail.
, Mary-Kate Olsen, Eva Mendes, Kirsten Dunst
I find her such an interesting figure. She was amazing in Mean Girls, and I think everyone agrees, but what she has done since is quite remarkable. A few years ago she moved to the United Arab Emirates and Greece, where she picked up a bit of an accent: a kind of mix of a British and an Arabic pronunciation. Strange, considering she is fully American. But anyway, La Lohan was in jail for 14 days because she skipped various hearings and mandatory meetings.
Paris Hilton
Lindsay's former BFF was also no angel back in the day. They both loved a party and the necessary substances that came with it. They had quite a few DUIs (driving under the influence) and then Paris was mandated to visit rehab. She wasn't really in the mood for that, so she didn't show up. In return, she had to spend three days behind bars. Not too bad.
Martha Stewart
This TV chef and best friend of Snoop Dogg (I always find that such a funny combination) had to spend five months in jail. That's quite a bit longer than the term of the two above. She was sentenced for conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and giving false statements. These three things were all related to a fraud case surrounding her work. It was not pretty.
Robert Downey Jr.
He was in jail for a YEAR. Can you imagine that? He was already famous then. Imagine Iron Man taking a year off because he has to go to prison. Freaky. But anyway, he got a year in jail because he missed a drug test while he was already on probation. Not very smart.
Mark Wahlberg
But it can always be worse, as Mark Wahlberg proves. He got two years in prison (but only served 45 days) for something particularly ugly. In fact, I'm surprised he had a career afterward; that must be very different now. He was imprisoned for the severe assault of two Vietnamese men. A spicy detail is that the argument arose because he approached them racially and ridiculed them for their ethnicity. Quite a turn-off, I must say.
Chris Brown
In 2014, this guy was locked up for several months, and I'm also surprised that he had a career afterward. He was already on probation for the severe assault on Rihanna when he disregarded those conditions and assaulted someone else. I really hope this man never gets a stage again.
Lil Kim
Do we still remember her? Maybe in terms of music, but probably not in terms of looks because hoooly shitballs, what happened to her appearance? She is an African American woman who now looks more of Asian descent. It's bizarre what she has done to her face. This was after she served her one-year prison sentence, which she received after lying about a friend's involvement in a shooting.
Wesley Snipes
The way prison sentences work in America... I will never understand that, I think. For example, Chris Brown doesn't even get a prison sentence after what he did to Rihanna, and if he does something like that again, he only has to serve a few months. But actor Wesley Snipes didn't pay taxes and got two years. TWO. That's just completely skewed.
50 Cent
Before we knew him as 50 Cent and he was still going by Curtis Jackson – so we're talking about 1994 – he was arrested for possession of heroin, crack, cocaine, and a firearm. He was really no angel back then. He is now, by the way: he does a lot of volunteer work in Africa.
Teresa Giudice
This lady we know from The Real Housewives of New Jersey was locked up for no less than eleven months because she had committed quite a bit of tax fraud. Can you picture it? This diva in a prison outfit, having to eat prison food. Honestly, I would have found it quite hilarious to see.
