AMAYZINES Style Sessions were a hit

Saturday morning 10:30 AM.
I dust off my Golden Goose suede boots. They have been in summer hibernation for half a year. Not only were they too warm, but there also hadn't really been an occasion to wear these high-heeled showpieces. But today there is. From 280 applications, we selected 30 readers whom I will address today about the importance of having your own style. My professional friend Manon Meijers, former stylist and now stylistologist, will then tell them how to develop such a personal style.
10:44 AM.
After fourteen minutes of rummaging through my closet, I choose a cream-colored ribbed shorts from J.Brand, a white blouse from Vanessa Bruno, a belt from Hermès, a vest from Dries Van Noten, and those suede boots. If you're going to talk about having your own unique style, it's handy if your look somewhat matches the image you want to project. In my case, classic (I love Hermès, Chanel, and cherish classics), but I do like to spice it up with some unexpected elements. That's why I fill my right forearm with two bracelets from Hermès and a chunky bracelet from Chanel. Whether it's too much, I ask my love. He looks critically and shakes his head no. And that's why I love him.

11:30 AM
Daan and I test the screen. Nothing human is foreign to us, so while we had all the time yesterday to test that stupid screen, we were busier with the outside (the fun styling and dressing) than with the technology. I hate, hate, hate to say it, but a man had to come in to point out a possible solution. Thank goodness I eventually found the way to connect the screen and laptop myself, so my ego was not irreparably damaged.

1:00 PM
The first readers trickle in. The pink non-alcoholic cocktails in, it must be said, amazing bottles (all designed by my super Daan) are ready, the edible flowers have been added, and it can really begin. I quickly grab a coffee for Manon, who has come driving from the south. We pose briefly for our photographer, and then it can really start.

1:35 PM
I ride my hobby horse: how to use fashion for your own gain and pleasure. Because fashion is fun, but it can also really do something for you. I talk about the style signature of Beau van Erven Dorens, Dionne Stax, of course our queen, and Kate and Meghan.

2:22 PM
I slide into a chair at the back of the room and enjoy listening to Manon Meijers. She links scientific research to the importance of fashion. Fashion can make you temporarily dumber and even smarter, and she explains why we have such a shopping urge (collecting can be explained evolutionarily) and tells why you shouldn't buy bikinis in winter. I hang on her lips, have a thousand questions, but eventually, we wrap up because we are not at Amsterdam The Style Outlets for nothing, and our readers have a voucher worth fifty euros in their goodie bag, so they want to shop.
3:55 PM
I quickly dive into the Estée Lauder store. I buy a face cream for my mother and for both of us an Advanced Night Repair eye serum. And oh, I can't resist picking up a small concealer to remove a little blemish. I run into a few readers whom I whisper a few favorite stores to (Intrend with Max Mara coats, Sissy-Boy, Nike, and I'm sure they will come back here, just like me, very often.
