Oh boys, for the first time in weeks I have a minute to sit on my butt and write a little. Such a renovation doesn't come easy, I can tell you that. Where we didn't hesitate for a moment to build a wall or install spots over the past months, there has been a wardrobe in Elias’ room for two weeks that is still not finished and the to-do's are piling up... And now that the world is finally opening up bit by bit and our industry is starting to get back on track, there is less and less time to finish those chores at home. Next week we're going on vacation for a few days and after that we have to film full throttle and finish the last tasks. Buttt... it really is a joy to live here!
When we were choosing all the colors for the house, I found it quite exciting that we wouldn't leave a single wall white. But I am so happy with how everything is turning out. I get non-stop questions about the names of the colors: everything is from Zoffany and compared to other brands, I find these colors very intense due to the high color pigmentation. If you have any questions about the colors, let me know. This beautiful color is called – how could it be otherwise – Bordeaux.
Finally back on set! After a year and a half, I can finally act again and I could honestly cry tears of joy. It also felt a bit like a test, but luckily the fire ignited immediately and by the end of the day I couldn't wait for the next shooting day. I can't tell you what it's for yet, but I can reveal that it's going to be very exciting.
The very first thing I chose for our new house? Our pivot doors. I absolutely didn't want black, like you see everywhere now. When I walked into the Twin Doors showroom, I immediately fell in love with the bronze color. There are so many possibilities in terms of color, layout, and even the placement of wood or leather is possible. This made the pivot door a real eye-catcher, and based on this door we chose the rest of the materials and colors. When the doors were installed last week, it felt complete. If you want pivot doors: dare to look beyond black, because even though these doors are bold, they are also timeless and unique. I will never get tired of these, that's for sure.
