Expedition Robinson: The Aftertalk

expedition Robinson episode 29

Fifteen weeks. Hallelujah. So we've been at this season of Expedition Robinson for quite a while. And if you don't think that's long, just realize that we're now at episode 29. And, each episode lasts about an hour if you don't count the commercials, which means: we've watched almost 29 hours of this. And then the best news: we're not even at the semi-final yet. HAHA. What a joke. But it was enjoyable again last night. And next week it's really happening: the semi-final. Yippee.

1. #durftevragen: is every season of Expedition Robinson really just over a month? In other words: is it normal that after thirty days you're still not in the semi-final?

2. So sweet that Yuki is willing to do everything to get Britte into that semi-final too.

3. Britte. Five-second rule. FIVE-SECOND RULE. Don't freak out first and then pick it up off the ground. The other way around.

4. It's impressive that Britte's hair still looks so good in the one-on-one with the cameras after thirty days.

5. Because if you look at Robbert's hair in the next shot, then uh... HAHA. Oh well, it's cute.

6. By the way, I'm completely convinced that everyone just clicks with JayJay. That nice friendship with Sterrin, now a bromance with Robbert; JayJay just brings out the best in people, I think.

7. Love this open conversation between the two about openness, sexuality, and the sports world.

8. Having a hangover from chocolate. Wow, that's quite a sour concept, I must say.

9. This challenge... I don't know. I find it really too intense. Why the votes? Without them, the challenge is already tough enough, right? Purely for the tear-jerking effect, this. That's a bit too far for my taste.

10. And maybe it's because I have quite a hangover this Sunday and always become completely emotionally unstable from it, but I'm crying harder than all three women combined.

11. Wait. One moment. That whole puzzle of Do doesn't make any sense? I can see that even with my failing grade in math. JURY! I'm very curious to see if they will react to this. That's what you get when you let the participants play jury members themselves.

12. Oooh, but I bet they're going to vote Sandra out now? Staying on Winner Island for too long is really not a good plan. Everything is being plotted behind your back and you'll be kicked out at the first opportunity.

13. Is Sandra talking about discipline while she has completely blown through the entire ration? Very sly, this.

14. But it's also quite nice (and understandable) that they still put her to work. Because being so strict is also too much effort. I would rather let someone cook for me.

15. How small is Anouk next to Yuki and Britte? I'm focusing on that for a moment, otherwise, I'll burst into tears again.

16. Aiiii, no. This. Is. SO. Ugly. Also being fully convinced that you've got it. I can cry about this too. What a misery.

17. And the award for the most pointless job goes to... The people who have to subtitle the five English sentences in Expedition Robinson. Thank goodness they mention what ‘whatever happens’ means in Dutch, otherwise I wouldn't have understood anything.

18. Okay, let's recap: Yuki is going to use his immunity ring and is definitely going to the semi-final, and Robbert and JayJay are competing with Sandra and going to the Island Council. Prediction: if Sandra doesn't win it, she's going home. For sure.

19. Robbert and JayJay are the funniest couple at the moment in terms of comedic relief. These kinds of scenes of just conversations in between, those light moments: I'd love to see more of that in Expedition if possible. You'd think that should be doable, right, with two episodes in one week?

20. Sooo, speed demon, that JayJay. He's definitely going to... WHUT.

21. A cliffhanger?! Seriously? After weeks, days, hours of loyal watching, you treat us to a cliffhanger at the moment of truth? Where can I file my complaint?

22. Well, let's go through the tweets then.
