Expedition Robinson: The Aftertalk

Wow, I really needed to recover from this episode. So much so that the aftertalk was delayed by a day. Sorry, sorry, but it was quite a tough little episode, I must say. I also don't really agree with what happened that Saturday night. And while I was initially sure I wanted to go to Croatia — because oh, how beautiful it is there — I’m staying nice and warm at home for now. It must be quite tough there.

1. That’s quite a less-than-warm welcome, I must say. Rob has just been betrayed by his camp and then John comes in with a straight leg.

2. ‘The loser goes home immediately.’ Home? HOME? Isn’t this Expedition Robinson 2021? I seriously thought going home wasn’t one of the options.

3. Oh my gosh, this expedition looks so miserable. That rain. That cold. Pure misery.

4. ‘When I woke up, I just missed my voice. Might sound weird.’ Noooo Sterrin, that doesn’t sound weird at all. I’m safely watching from home and even I miss Stefano’s voice.

5. Uh dear makers, we really don’t need to see practices like chopping fish to death. Greetings, TV-watching Netherlands.

6. I know everyone has an opinion about him, but I actually find John quite endearing. It’s also refreshing that someone doesn’t obviously form alliances but just says it like it is to everyone’s face.

8. It’s really impressive that Rob suddenly finds bamboo of only the same length. In Croatia. Maybe he gave the production a sweet look?

9. Eva is really Miss Robinson 2021. It doesn’t matter if she wins or not, what a boss she is.

10. How many complaints from PETA will this episode get? I feel like I’m watching more slaughtered fish than the participants. Goodbye appetite.

16. Come on Kaj, you’re literally sending all the participants to different camps, so she should also be allowed to go to the next place. Come. On.

17. Oookay, so you can be voted out, lose challenges, and still end up at a new camp, and Eva has to leave after the first one? Right now, I really think Expedition Robinson is a lousy show.

18. #durftevragen: why do the teams not have to be of equal size? It seems to me that you really have a huge advantage if you have one extra person.

19. For the first time in the history of Expedition Robinson… Do the camps actually wish each other well? A season full of surprises, this one. But I also think it’s just the absolute toughest season ever, because Croatia is really no picnic in these circumstances.

20. That farmer Annemiek seems to be quite a tough lady. Sylvana gets burned at the last minute and Dennis hardly gave her a glance. I don’t want to mess with her, no, thank you.

21. But wait: how can all those notes be so neat while we see the participants folding them every week? What kind of black magic is this?

22. Poor dear Sterrin. Do we find this bad? Yes. Do we find it the most fun that this means Stefano and she will be reunited? Also yes. Very much yes, that last one. Dream team reunited, let’s goooo.

23. HAHA. That girl with her snakes. She goes completely off on JayJay’s story. Maybe a little less off on the fact that that snake was eaten five minutes later.

24. ‘Could it maybe still be possible to vote Sieneke out instead of me?’ Stefano is just SO CUTE. Sorry Sien, you’re a nice girl, but Stefano really has to stay.
