Finally: McDonald's goes vegan

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: Finally: McDonald’s goes vegan.
McDonald’s announced last year that it would start working with meat substitutes. Under the name ‘McPlant’, various products would be launched. And now it's here: McDonald’s McPlant plant-based burger is now for sale.
Maccie had previously promised to bring more veggie products to the market. Since 2019, five vegetarian products have already been launched, such as the Veggie Nuggets, the Veggie McKroket, and the Veggie Homestyle Crispy Chicken. But a veggie version of the classic burger, we had to wait a little longer for that. Until now.
Not vegan
The McPlant, made with Beyond Meat, has been specially developed for McDonald’s based on plant-based pea protein. McPlant consists of a bun with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle, mustard, sandwich sauce, and ketchup. Of course, the cheddar melting cheese is also included. So the burger is not vegan, but if you don't eat meat, or are just incredibly curious about how the McPlant tastes, you can sink your teeth into it. And let's be honest: this looks promising, doesn't it?

Tasting
For the next month and a half, you can taste the McPlant in almost all Dutch branches of McDonald's. To get as many people as possible excited about this new burger, Beyond Meat and McDonald’s are organizing a tasting in seven major Dutch cities. The first one is on Friday, September 17 at Beursplein in Rotterdam.
