8 x the finest hotels in Antwerp

Last week, my beloved and I celebrated our three-year anniversary in Antwerp. I know that three years is not a world record, but anything worth celebrating should be celebrated, right? Normally, we just go out to dinner, but that wasn't possible this time due to the measures. Therefore, we decided to take a little trip to our neighboring country, where you can still enjoy dining until eleven o'clock. Antwerp is one of those cities that, just like Paris, you can never get tired of. They have the most beautiful antique shops, delicious restaurants, and stunning hotels. Especially during this period, I recommend everyone a little escape to Antwerp, and that's why I'm sharing the finest hotels in Antwerp.
1. Hotel August
We stayed at this magical place last week. Hotel August is a renovated Augustinian monastery with beautiful high ceilings and colored windows. Even the original tiled floors have been restored and put back in place. The tasteful and sleek interior was designed by Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen, making it a perfect mix of authentic and modern. What a treat it was to sleep here. By the way, there is also a wellness area at the hotel, so you can completely relax here. Last but not least: you absolutely must order and eat the dame blanche at the bar.

2. Boulevard Leopold
This hotel is truly a fairy tale to see. Everything is decorated in nineteenth-century style, and the building itself is a very old mansion. It is not directly in the center, but about a twenty-minute walk from there, which doesn't seem like a disaster to me if you stay here. The hotel has five rooms and books is only available through an email request. All very exclusive, of course, but then you also get something.

3. Hotel Pilar
Another beautiful and showroom-like hotel. Hotel Pilar is located in the ‘t Zuid district, among beautiful buildings, squares, and Parisian-style cafés. Each room is uniquely decorated with unique furniture and art, giving each space a different atmosphere. Is this art not enough for you? Then you can also find the Museum of Contemporary Art just a five-minute walk from here.

4. Hotel Riga
Hotel Riga is named after the previous owner of the building. Marcel Riga opened a suitcase store called M.Riga in 1938. This store was known for its large and sturdy suitcases. As an ode to him, it still says on hotel: ‘Everything for the journey. Riga. Suitcases for Africa.’ In the hotel itself, they strive to give their guests that same ‘travel feeling.’ From the photos of the hotel, I think they are doing quite well.

5. YUST
Yust is located in the new trendy district of Harmonie. They combine hotel, hostel, and lofts for longer stays in one design building. What a nice concept that is? They also have a cozy restaurant, where many healthy and vegetarian dishes are on the menu. Feeling like a drink? Then you can have a glass of wine on the rooftop with a view of Harmoniepark, or in the cozy patio by the fireplace.

6. Hotel Julien
Hotel Julien is owned by the same owners as Hotel August and is just as tastefully designed. If you are busy with interior design, you will really go crazy here. Just those bathrooms with beautiful freestanding bathtubs, what a dream.

7. Lit D’Art
The name of the hotel says it all. Owner Aida has a great passion for people, art, design, and architecture and always dreamed of having her own boutique hotel. When this art nouveau mansion became available, she immediately seized her chance and transformed it in 2019 into Lit D’art. It has become an amazing place, with four luxurious suites and a wellness area.

8. Cabosse
It just keeps going with those beautiful hotels in Antwerp. Also Cabosse is another enchanting princess hotel in a renovated mansion. The boutique hotel has a beautiful garden with a swimming pond and a spa that is impressive. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a fancy high tea, and in the evening, you can taste the most special wines at the wine bar. Although I actually think you will never want to leave your room when you sleep here.
