Finally: the first Starbucks drive-thru

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: the first Starbucks drive-thru.
An industrial area in Bleiswijk (South Holland) had the premiere: the very first drive-through Starbucks in the Netherlands recently opened its doors here, or rather the window. Where it may have been unimaginable some time ago that you could quietly let four or five euros beep from your bank account for a venti caramel frappuccino without getting out of the car, that is not so strange anymore these days.
At least, not so strange if you drive past the Prisma industrial area on the N209, where this Starbucks is now part of a ‘food court’ with several fast-food chain restaurants.
Getting coffee in a corona-proof way
Commercial manager Arjen van Santen says that seventy percent of the revenue came from the drive-through during the trial period prior to the official opening, during which the employees could calmly get the hang of this form of service. According to him, people feel safer in the car due to corona and not everyone is in the mood to get out of the car at a gas station for a cup of coffee on the way to work.
You will see more of this
Fans are happy that there is now a location in that area, they tell AD. Naaldwijk, which is not far from Bleiswijk, will also get a Starbucks drive-through later this year, and the rest of these types of locations in the Netherlands will follow later.
