Habits that make you happy

That blissful feeling that suddenly overwhelms you, do you ever feel that too? I sometimes have it when I suddenly have time for myself in the sun on a terrace out of the wind. Or when I am sitting on my butt in the middle of the living room meditating. If I weren't breaking my head all morning over complicated IT issues, it would be a happy day now too.
What am I saying? That's just it, up on the roof with IT.
I feel more often than not like a happy person. Happy, though. Maybe it's because of these three quite important habits, as they seem to be common among happy people. By the way, did you know that a habit can be learned in 21 days? So being incredibly happy is just 3 times 21 days away. A boost, right? Countless studies show that happy people often do this.
1. Focus on positive things
A happy person mainly sees positive points in a situation. Yes, that manager indeed went off quite unfiltered at the meeting, but the results of the month were still good, right? There is always something good or fun to discover about a situation or person; it's never completely bad. Happy people automatically focus on something good, while less happy people tend to focus on the negative.
2. Set the right goals
Goals are fun and quite handy because they give a bit of direction to life. Furthermore, we are just doing what we do. However, it does matter what goals you set and whether those goals are of the competitive or cooperative kind. It may not be surprising, but if you set goals for yourself that also help others, it makes you happier. Setting a goal to be better, richer, or more fantastic than someone else works against you. Sounds like karma.
3. Forgive!
I can be quite angry at someone or worse: disappointed. Let's just say it's something very human, but even in this area, happy people distinguish themselves from less happy people. Because what do those happy folks generally do? They forgive. Happy people do not remain sulking and angry about all the injustice that has been done to them. Nope, they forgive and forget. And ultimately, that makes you happier.
