Hit on TikTok: eat a lemon peel

Last week I couldn't sleep and decided to dive back into the wonderful world of TikTok. And there I found all sorts of special things again. It remains TikTok, right? But to be honest: I have actually gained quite a lot from it. For example, I have found the absolute best mascara ever thanks to the app, but also in terms of makeup I keep learning quite a bit. Not to mention all the handy iPhone hacks; those remain my favorite. Okay, and the food hacks are also favorites, because those spicy Taki’s chips I really find amazing. And amazingly expensive by the way, for a mini bag that contains 80 percent air.

But anyway, I came across a TikTok trend on the account of @kellymexy. I really think she's awesome to follow by the way, because she's very funny. But that also made it a bit tricky, because I didn't know if she was messing with me with this TikTok hack or if she was serious.

Google gave the answer: it is indeed a thing. It involves eating a lemon peel, which isn't exactly high on my list of things I want to try. Now, the peel of a lemon is packed with vitamins and such, but that's not the reason why all of TikTok eats it. No, it would supposedly create a kind of euphoric feeling that kicks in after 45 minutes. A sort of high on drugs without drugs but with lemon. Well, the whole ‘when life gives you lemons’ sounds a lot more pleasant this way.

Although it hasn't really been scientifically proven that it actually works. If I may believe Kelly, only women are sensitive to this euphoric feeling. And you would also get an enormous amount of energy from it. Additionally, it is a huge downside that it is particularly disgusting. You know what? I'm going to take the plunge today, because according to this BuzzFeed article you really notice something from it (although she didn't have a ‘high’ feeling) and Kelly is also quite enthusiastic. I will post on my Insta Stories whether I get high as a kite from it. Or maybe I won't even eat it at all. Come see that.

@kellymexyFirst of all, yes, it’s safe to eat lemon peels. They contain many vitamins, minerals, and fibers, so they are beneficial to your health
