Capital Kitchen

Attention: there is a new hotspot to be found in Amsterdam. In a neighborhood where I honestly don't come very often: at Weesperplein in Amsterdam East. Well, I am sometimes a bit too much of a homebody and don't venture out of my own neighborhood enough, that became clear again. Because this new hotspot, Capital Kitchen, is one to remember. Just for the building alone: in the Capital C, better known as the Diamond Exchange.

I had never been inside before and my first thought was: how big it is here. Capital Kitchen consists of two floors, with a large staircase in the middle of the space. I am a sucker when it comes to interior design so this was already a big plus.

But of course; the food is much more important. The menu is inspired by our own little frog country. The ingredients are as local as possible (fun fact: my hometown Ouderkerk aan de Amstel contributes to it as well) and also the wines are partly Dutch. I always find that tricky, but we dared to try it: the Dutch pinot grigio was really very good, nice and dry and fresh.

Same goes for the appetizers: a homemade filet americain and the veggie cauliflower, and then the farm chicken. So if you're looking for a new spot for a good dinner (or a drink at the bar, because that looked very inviting too): Capital Kitchen you want to have on your radar.
