I watched Jaimie Vaes: In The Vaes Lane and this is what I thought

People, people, what a busy week. Twice Expedition, a bit of Temptation and the finale of The Bachelor: it's all a lot for me. I almost had no time for my weekly moment with Jaimie. Hahaaaa, that's of course not true. I always make time for that. And rightly so this week, because what turns out: it's the last episode. WHUT? Yes, of course I'm going through it with you again.

1. Gooo shawty, it’s ya birthday. Now I was two days ago and I started my day in sweatpants and with a bun on my head. Jaimie starts her day in a glitter dress in full glam. There has to be a difference, right?.

2. Yay, Dieuwertje is BACK. That took a while, huh. And while we were still sooo invested in her entire application process in season number one. I actually thought that might have been purely for the show, but no, Dieuwertje is still working there.

3. And this episode also features a new face: one Paulina, her birthday twin. I wonder where she digs up all those friendships?

4. Lío is really the cutest. I don't think it's a punishment to be a nanny in Ibiza and take care of such a boy. Quite cozy actually.

5. Although cocktails and snacks in Izakaya also don't seem unpleasant to me, but I guess Dieuwertje won't be allowed to join.

6. And then there's a friend like that Charlie. Where do you find people who own a house in Ibiza like that?

7. Maybe the initial idea behind this reality series was that Jaimie is ‘just like you and me’, but if there's one thing I've realized, it's that that's far from the case.

8. Yaaa, a sign of life from Koen. Love it. I think he's still in South Africa at the time of this episode and says he's feeling great.

9. By now, of course, he's back in the Netherlands and I hope he's still just as happy. Since In The Vaes Lane, I've developed such a soft spot for him. And to be honest: with his absence in the episodes, the comedy has also become quite a bit less.

10. But even though it's a shared birthday party, it's very clear that Jaimie is the *main character*.

11. Okay, I think Lío is very cute, but he doesn't seem very clingy, I have the idea. Haha, literally every time Jaimie says: ‘Mama kiss’, he turns his head away.

12. So sad that all the footage from a night always stops just when it gets fun. We want to party along, Jaimie.

13. Oh, excuse me: she also skipped a party once. How proud she says that too. ‘There was a villa party but even that I skipped.’ This pride of a sudden backbone I find very recognizable.

14. That detox to cleanse your body I find absolutely NOT recognizable. I've tried it once, but I absolutely don't believe in detox cures.

15. And I would faint at the sight of that huge needle. What kind of exciting detoxification is this, man?

16. Wait, WHUT? This is so different from all my detox cures. Why on earth would you want to inject yourself at home with some vague substance? I literally don't understand any of this.

17. Oh dear, Bono didn't quite understand the assignment. ‘It looks like it, but also not at all.’ Luckily, she knows exactly what's wrong. HAHA.

18. Hahaaaaa, what an unexpected burn. ‘That dress, that's way too big. That's almost Estelle's size.’ Holy shit, give me a figure like Estelle when I reach her age.

19. ‘I’m not ballin’ on a budget.’ Words to live by. But dear Jaimie, this birthday party is really quite expensive.

20. And I wasn't invited, so that's definitely a big minus.

21. I actually find that outfit of Bono from Peursem really deliciously hysterical. Did he arrive in that bathrobe straight from the airport?

22. Huh? Did Jaimie just wear that one outfit for exactly ten seconds and now has a new one again? Pfff, my birthday parties pale in comparison.

23. Oh noooo, why does it feel like this is the last episode? Say it isn't so.

24. No, no, no. We want Koen's comeback. Guys, stop. There's no ‘next time’. No preview. This was it.

Well, I found that a bit of a lame ending. Of course, I understand that her birthday party is the right moment to close that season, but... That party looked a bit tame and quiet. Or did the camera crew get kicked out when it really got going? Anyway, I'm ready for that third season. When?
