I watched the second week of Love Island and this is what I thought

Holly Brood at Love Island week 2
The week flies by when we talk about Love Island. While I experience quite little in a week, it's quite different there. People were exposed (yes Yasmin, looking at you), there were kisses, the Hide Away premiered, and new Islanders came in. And all of this happened during the week, because in true Love Island style, the weekend is for rest; that recap on Sunday is really not watched by anyone, right? But that doesn't change the fact that my average workweek looks a lot tamer than what's going on there. We have a lot to go over again, you understand. Let’s gooohooo.

1. We need to talk a bit about Francesco. He is living proof that ‘nice guys finish last’, right? He does everything right: he is attentive, cooks for you, doesn't play games, doesn't act unnecessarily dramatic, and is looking for serious love.

2. Okay, and I also find him low key hilarious and I keep wondering if he is putting on an innocent act or if he really has no sense of self-deprecation or if he is secretly pulling a fast one on all of us. Either way: I’m a fan of Francesco.

3. One person we definitely know is putting on an act: Yasmin. Aiii girl, you really got exposed this week, huh?

4. Sly, sly fox that you are. You literally haven't exchanged a word with Donny and you already call him ‘Don’ (am I the only one who hates it when people immediately give you a nickname while they don't know you? That's for intimates, and you are not one) and you are convinced he is a threat.

5. No, it really doesn't matter that he hasn't shown any interest in you yet. Yes, it does matter that you immediately run into the arms of Joey when he indicates that. He knows nothing.

6. Slightly off-topic: doesn't Yasmin remind you a lot of Lotte from the first season? The way she talks, the laugh, just everything.

7. #durftevragen: Donny who slips up after the date with Rowenna and initially says: ‘we had to go dancing’ instead of: ‘we went dancing’. Now I have to say that that very smooth salsa already looked quite unspontaneous. Is this a case of had-to-from-the-producers?

8. Hand up if a childhood trauma came up for you when Minn was chosen by Deniz. I was back in the gym where I was the last one left and the popular kids didn't want me on their team.

9. But seriously, isn't this the most painful thing ever? And that Deniz who is being so understanding. I don't know, but someone is literally in tears because she has to sleep in the same bed as you. Minn in tears, Deniz sweetly putting an arm around her. It just hurt my eyes, this situation.

10. Sorry, but just a little more about Yasmin: it might be a bit too late to worry about what the viewers at home think of you. You should have handled points three to five differently.

11. I really enjoy that Morris seriously tells Joey that he indeed looks a bit foolish (in the whole situation with Yasmin), while the poor guy is wearing a SLEEP MASK in the shape of a cat's head. Delightful.

12. And yes, the word is back. We vibe. Everyone vibes. The whole Love Island is about vibing.

13. I’m not crying, you’re crying. The bromance between Job and Morris is no more.

14. Of course, I also have to talk about Rosa, because how cute is she? I'm all for her getting together with Francesco. Even though I now have the feeling that it's mostly due to lack-of-better from both sides, I don't care. Rosesco has to become a thing.

15. Yasmin deciding to kiss Joey (because oh dear if another girl does it first) and preparing for it feels like a childhood trauma when I was getting ready for my very first kiss. I hope for her that it goes better between them at least.

16. You can't convince me otherwise: the creators are also fans of Francesco. Never before has the audience been allowed to choose who a new Islander went on a date with. Yes, the creators also know: he just has the charm factor.

17. I'm curious how we could vote on this, because we didn't know who or what was new in the villa, right? I suspect a rigged game.

18. At the last minute, Yasmin wants to fall through the cracks one more time. From preparation for a tongue session to okay-is-good-then-I'll-go-for-Donny. Yes, how dare you want to talk to someone else? Especially after Yasmin was so loyal all the time.

19. I predict: trouble in paradise for Minn and Jim, and Francesco is going to cook for every girl in the villa once he gets the chance (seriously: he forgot Rosa pretty quickly).

20. Last but certainly not least, because I had to laugh really hard at this. Seen on Twitter: ‘Who are you voting for to go out? And why is it Yasmin?’ HAHA.

Oh guys, I'm looking forward to tonight. I honestly hope that this week is a bit less focused on what Yasmin is handling so poorly — it's better for the overall atmosphere, I think. Although we all love the drama, because I haven't mentioned Job and Esmée a single time today because if it's just all cookies and eggs, there's not much to talk about.
