Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: mini apple turnovers from the Airfryer.

Visiting on the road, cookie jar empty? No panic, with these quick apple turnovers everyone has something tasty with tea. If you have two sheets of puff pastry, an apple, and an Airfryer at home, it will work. What you also need: an ice cube tray.

Ingredients
2 apples
2 tablespoons of sugar + some extra for sprinkling
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
1 long sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed and cut lengthwise
1 egg

How people manage without an Airfryer at home, we will never understand. Because how do you quickly get nachos, spring rolls, or super crispy pork belly? And now this idea again: small apple turnovers. Brilliant! They resemble those rectangular apple turnovers that were sold at McDonald's for a while, but even tastier.

Here's how to make mini apple turnovers in the Airfryer:

  1. Cut the apples into tiny pieces, mix in the sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Place a thawed sheet of puff pastry on the ice cube tray, press the dough into the cavities with your fingers but be careful to keep the dough intact.
  3. Now fill the cavities with the apple pieces.
  4. Place another sheet of puff pastry on top, roll it tightly with a rolling pin.
  5. Cut away excess dough. Turn the tray over onto a cutting board.
  6. Cut the apple turnovers apart and place them on a piece of baking paper.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with some (brown) sugar.
  8. Bake the apple turnovers for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.
