So fun: the Orient Express is going from Amsterdam to Venice this summer

A bucket list case of the finest kind, I must say. The iconic Orient Express is heading to Bella Italia this summer. Final stop: Venice. Starting point: our very own Amsterdam. How fun is that? And very special, since the train has actually been retired since 1977. But far from dilapidated, I assure you: there's no lack of luxury. The NS could learn a thing or two from this; it probably even runs on time. Just imagine.

The Orient Express was brought out of retirement in our capital before, but back then it was only for the true elite: it was a private ride. Now I must say that this train journey is also for the elite, or for the biggest enthusiasts.

A one-way ticket (I repeat: one-way ticket) costs around six thousand euros. Now it might help that quite a few vacations have been canceled due to corona, so who knows, people might be eager to spend a bit.

Website traintraveler.nl So expect the tickets to fly off the shelves like hotcakes. When is the trip planned? On June 24, departing from Amsterdam Central. In between, it will also stop in Brussels and Paris. I want this so badly, it's unbelievable. But six-thou-sand euros? I need to sleep on that for a night.
