The 10 most commonly used alibis for cheating

Look, I could start with a whole argument about why people shouldn't cheat and that cheating is bad, but we all know: it happens. People cheat. And the vast majority lies about it as well. You might think that those people twist themselves into all sorts of knots with those lies, and sometimes that's true, but often they are just the standard little lies. In fact, Illiciet Encounters conducted research among two thousand members (both men and women) and asked them what they say they are going to do when they... are going to do something with someone other than their partner. And this is what came out.

The top 10 for men
1. Watching football
2. Golfing
3. Working overtime
4. Hanging out after work
5. Going out with friends
6. Walking the dog
7. Gym
8. Practicing one sport in particular
9. Meeting with best friend
10. Visiting acquaintances

Okay, sounds pretty standard, right? Worse still, I would totally fall for this. Except for walking the dog, I find that very ugly. Do you take your dog to your outside partner? Really a no go.

The alibis are quite similar and that makes me wonder if this has ever led to conflicts. That both partners cheated and they argued about who got to walk the dog, for example? HAHA. By the way, it's striking that we women apparently prefer to use acquaintances rather than dragging our best friend into our lies. I find that quite sympathetic of us.
