The dumbest mistake that almost all of us make

You're going on vacation and you're preparing for it. The fridge is empty and ajar, your friends are coming to water the plants and the cleaner is grabbing the newspapers from your mailbox. An overflowing mailbox naturally screams ‘we are on vacation’ and is the biggest lure for thieves.
You've set a switch that turns the lights on and off in the evening and the blinds are half-open.
But if we're being completely honest, a bit of seasoned criminal certainly knows that there's no movement in your house. Summer vacation + a car that has been parked in the same spot for a week + no barking dogs and ticking children = the welcome mat for a burglary is rolled out.
And then comes the dumbest mistake imaginable. Because you probably have stored all your valuable belongings elsewhere, but what is truly the most expensive and sought-after object you have? Probably your car. And where are your car keys? In the drawer of the hallway cabinet. Right?
So what does the average burglar do? They tap a small hole in the window of your front door, smoothly open the door, walk to the key cabinet, and casually stroll to your car and leave the street.
So the biggest tip (besides an alarm from, for example, Verisure and even better: inviting someone to stay in your house): also hand over your car keys to your friend. And if she’s coming to water your plants anyway, she might also want to move your car. It really helps. And to all the criminals, I would like to say: shoo and fly away, go do something with your life. Work or something.
Do you remember of this terrible robbery?
