The grim secrets behind Hollywood

I used to always want to be famous. I can't exactly sing — and still can't — so I ended up acting. This dream was further strengthened when Titanic came out and I developed a love slash obsession for Leo DiCaprio. Because what are the chances that he would go for a ‘normie’ like me? Exactly, none. Back then, I couldn't have predicted that he would only hook up with models and that I would now be way too old for him. Okay, and to be very honest: I don't think I can act either. My CV only lists my 8th-grade musical and two episodes of GTST where I was an extra. So you understand: Hollywood didn't become my thing. But the shine of Hollywood has also faded a bit for me. More and more grimness is coming to light, and if you know the secrets below... Then I hope you don't find it the ideal workplace anymore either.
1. The paparazzi are almost always called
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that if a celeb doesn't want to be spotted, then it doesn't happen. Nine times out of ten when celebs are captured on camera, it's because the paparazzi know they're hanging around because the celeb (or the celeb's PR team) has reached out. In fact, some celebs have collaborations with certain paparazzi. Kim Kardashian, for example, has her personal paparazzi who takes her photos. But even back in the days of The Hills, Speidi had a deal with the paparazzi company Pacific Coast News: they would get half of the proceeds. According to Spenver, they earned more than a million from it.
2. The casting couch is really a thing
Of course, Harvey Weinstein is now — thankfully — completely exposed, but unfortunately, he is not an exception. Megan Fox spoke out about this earlier against GQ: she said that ‘Hollywood legends’ invited her to their homes. Completely happy with this opportunity, she arrived, and it soon became clear that they didn't want to talk about work. Well, she would get work if she spread her legs, that was the bottom line. According to her, there are many A-list actresses who have achieved their success this way.
3. Child abuse is also really a thing
I hope this eventually gets more news coverage or that those who are guilty of this face more consequences. Corey Feldman, a child star, is still fighting for this. Bryan Singer has also been confronted (and sued) by several victims who were minors at the time. But you don't hear much about that in the media. In fact, Kevin Spacey, who is accused of approaching a 14-year-old boy, is just back at work.
