Creators of Bridgerton say that there could be as many as 8 seasons.

So, they have confidence over there at Bridgerton. Understandably so, because it is indeed a hit. It's a case of you either love it or you don't, because even here in the editorial office, opinions are quite divided. And I personally still don't really know if I'm team Yay or team Nay (in this case also team May, because she is definitely not a fan) . By the way, they probably couldn't care less at Netflix's headquarters what we think about it here, because enough plans have already been made. Quite grand plans too.
There are actually eight seasons planned. EIGHT. Showrunner Chris van Dusen announced this. It makes sense that he comes up with eight: there are eight kids involved and the series is based on eight books. Given the enormous success of season one, I can imagine they have confidence in being able to stretch this over eight seasons.
Each character will then actually get a bit of their own season, and that does sound pretty cool. Maybe I should give it another chance, because to be honest: I dropped out after episode four. But I'm going to pick it up again as we speak, because from what I hear, we're not done with it yet.
