The truth behind the contestants of season 8

Oooookay, hold on: SPOILERS. Spoilers incomiiiiiing. Not so much about what happens in season 8, but about the people who are in it. Uh, I mean participating of course. Although, it seems like some participants don’t quite see it that way…
Just a little refresher about season 8: it is still ongoing in Australia as we speak: on Sunday, the last four episodes will start with the Final Vows and of course the reunion dinner. And seriously, I can't wait until it's on Videoland so I can discuss everything with you all. This is honestly the most intense and chaotic season so far, and that says a lot. Want to start binge-watching already? I get it; check my Instagram, because in the link in my bio you can find the site where all the episodes are already available (not subtitled). And, have you seen them yet and want to chat about how bizarre it all is, feel free to send a message.
But anyway, here come the spoilers about the participants. Or better said: the big difference between how we see them in the show and how they really are. Starting with Patrick. You know, a bit of a clumsy personal trainer who is married to Belinda, who is even clumsier, and together they are the ‘cute’ couple of the season.
That would all be fake; according to insiders, he has never had problems with picking up women. In fact, he is said to have contacted his ex-girlfriend during filming (platonically, of course) and she is supposed to be an incredibly attractive woman.
Next up is Alana: I found her really hilarious. Her real name is Sinead Chong and she changed it to Alana Lister in 2009, or in other words… A-Lister.
It's not uncommon for participants to be asked if they want to join. That was also the case with Johnny, who has a background in theater. He would mainly participate to give his acting career a boost… But he really fell in love with his wife Kerry. Understandable; she is really nice.
Next up: Georgia. She was matched with the bisexual Liam and reacted very well (which should actually just be normal, right?) to it. This was supposedly whispered to her by her mother, as it would make her come across better on TV. And yes, her mother is also the reason she signed up; she wants to present her daughter as the next Elle Woods. Hmmm. By the way, Georgia and Liam said they had sex during their honeymoon and this too would be a lie to keep the ‘experts’ happy. Juicy.
Then there's darling Jake. Poor Jake who is paired with Bec. Here comes the tea: Bec had to leave in the last week, back home because her dog needed surgery. This was not staged, but the producers did require her to FaceTime with Jake from home during the recordings. And then she momentarily forgot to turn off the camera and Jake saw her in full view making out with her boyfriend Ben, who was waiting for her at home. WHUT? We would get to see this during the reunion. CAN'T WAIT.
By the way, Jake is not always the sweetheart we see on TV: he cheated on his ex-fiancée and would mainly get a good edit because he has many connections at Channel 9 (where MAFS is broadcasted).
There isn't much positive to say about Brett either: several people who encountered him after the broadcasts said he was sexist and arrogant. Jokes about women not being able to drive and stories about his Japanese women fetish did not save the show. Ehh, okay? We indeed saw a very different Brett.
Well, and then there's Bryce. He is exactly as he is in the show: a pig and a first-class jerk. He was in a relationship with someone named Courtney when he started the show, and in the end, he dumped her for Melissa. And of course, as we all know, he lied throughout the show about the existence of this girl. Gross. I really wonder what will happen when Melissa sees all this back — wouldn't you dump that guy immediately?
As I said: I can't WAIT until it's finally all on Videoland. So excited to discuss all these episodes again. Most intense. Season. EVER.
