These celebs are unfairly receiving a lot of hate

If you thought the press and gossip magazines in the Netherlands were bad, then you should keep an eye on those in America and England for a week or a month for fun. Because there they really go wild. Marriages, affairs, babies: everything is reviewed and not even a tenth of it is true. I seriously think they are at an accuracy percentage of five percent.

Because if they have a bit of a grudge against you, you will definitely know it. Not just the press, by the way, the internet is in on it too. Because a comment on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or another medium is of course made so easily and often people don't think twice about it. There are a number of celebs who haven't really fared well with it: they receive so much hate directed at them. As far as I'm concerned, it's completely unjustified for the people below. Agree?

1. Anne Hathaway
In the Netherlands, it's not quite the case, but in America, she is quite hated. Especially on the internet: but really intensely too. Why? Really. No. IDEA. She even has her own hate club called The Hathahaters. It's just not fair, man. The reasons she belongs to that club include the following: she supposedly has an annoying laugh, she is too exaggerated, she tries too hard, her short haircut is annoying, she is too goody-goody... Well, call the police. It's criminal that she gets away with all this.

2. Corey Haim
Never heard of Corey Haim? Let me give you a brief introduction. Together with Corey Feldman, he was a child star in the 80s. At that time, he was sexually abused by older actors (the rumor is that Charlie Sheen was involved but that has never been confirmed), and once he became an adult, things quickly went downhill for him. Mentally, but also drug addictions hindered his acting career. As a result, he gained the reputation of a ’has-been‘ and became the target of hate and jokes. But if you consider what he went through as a child, you can imagine he didn't have an easy life, right? He passed away in 2010 at the age of 38.

3. Adele
I hear you thinking: huh? Adele hated? No way. And that's basically true – I don't know anyone who doesn't like her voice, whether you like her music or not – but even Adele received a ton of crap when she had the ~audacity~ to lose weight. Suddenly, she was so much prettier when she was fuller, she looked (according to people) much unhappier when she was slimmer, and it wouldn't be good for her at all. Note: she initially also received crap for having a larger size. A case of you-can-never-do-it-right. See also: Rebel Wilson.

4. Britney Spears
She had a complete mental breakdown because the paparazzi wouldn't leave her alone for a second and shaved all her hair off. And what did the press do? They went ten times harder on it. Instead of seeing that this was just a young woman who was having an incredibly hard time at the time, who wanted nothing more than a little peace, they just continued with what they were doing and ridiculed her on the front page for the mental breakdown they had caused themselves.

5. Rebecca Black
It’s Friday, Friday, gettin’ down on Fridaahaaay. Okay, it wasn't the absolute best song ever made, but come on, that girl was thirteen. THIRTEEN. And she received nonstop death threats directed at her and became the target of massive internet bullying. She even dropped out of school because of all the bullying. As a thirteen-year-old girl, just entering puberty: that's not your most steady phase (for many), let alone that you literally have the whole world and the internet coming down on you.

6. Kim Cattrall
She didn't want to do the new Sex and the City reboot and immediately became The Bad Guy. Okay, she didn't get along well with the cast (Sarah Jessica Parker in particular), but whose fault that really is we will never know. And it's quite logical that you don't want to do an incredibly intense project with someone you can't stand and who feels the same way, right? I actually think it's better that she doesn't participate just for the money.

7. Nickelback
I can be very brief about this: I have no idea why it became an internet hit to hate Nickelback. They don't play on repeat for me either, but what was the big deal about it? No idea.

8. Meghan Markle
I can also be very brief about this: from the moment she was with Harry, she could do nothing right. Maybe she did some awkward things here and there, but even if she had done everything perfectly and to everyone's liking, it still wouldn't have been good, I'm sure of that.
