This is the safest place in the airplane

Last year I booked two seats in the front row. My common sense told me that this was a nice spot, because you are as close as possible in the plane. A bit of the last in, first out principle. But then it turned out that only the toilet at the front was open, causing the whole plane to be breathing down my neck during toilet visits. But what is actually a good spot in the plane according to health experts?
First of all, you are at a higher risk of infection when flying, but it is still among the very lowest risks. If someone coughs on you at the local supermarket, you are further from home. Airplanes have a system that lets in fresh air and recycles air through HEPA filters, which keeps the air much cleaner. In comparison, there have been very few super spread events in the airspace, so you can sit quite calmly. Although I found it far from relaxing that Nel next to me took off her mask for half an hour to drink a cola, but that's beside the point.
Experts tell HuffPost that window seats are the safest due to air circulation and distance from people walking by, but also the seats at the back of the plane because few people go there. There goes my theory, which of course was based on nothing. By the way, it is more likely that you pick up Covid-19 before and after flying, while you are packed in line or shoulder to shoulder stuffing luggage in the compartment. So my theory wasn't that crazy, until everyone had to go to the same toilet.
Furthermore, the advice is to especially reserve an unwanted spot in the plane, which is often again at the back. The chance is greater that you sit there alone, making it easier to keep your distance from other passengers. Because that is actually what experts mainly say: just try to keep as much distance as possible, wear a mask, wash your hands, and shorten your time at the airport. Well, we can dream those instructions, so that’s all good.
